November proved an extremely successful month for the Japanese automaker in the U.S., with Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) reporting a year-over-year increase of almost 70 percent, thanks to the sales of 6,071 new Mitsubishimodels.
Sales of the U.S. manufactured Outlander Sport peaked at 2,059, reflecting an increase of 35.5 percent over the previous year, while sales of the 2014 Outlander showed a gain of 139 percent with the sales of 1,399 units.
The Lancer was also successful, posting gains of 139 percent for November, while the Lancer Evolution and Lancer Sportback displayed year-to-date increase of 3.7 and 3.6 percent, respectively.
"This marked MMNA's best November sales since 2007," declares MMNA President & CEO Yoichi Yokozawa. "Sales of our Outlander and Outlander Sport – "American's Safest CUV Line-up" – continue to anchor our growth, and we are finding tremendous consumer acceptance of the all-new 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage 5-door sub-compact – the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered, non-hybrid vehicle in America."1
