Who would drive a car down a ski slope?

Extreme downhill skiers can get up to 70mph on steep ski slopes. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution can go considerably faster than that on the track, but can it keep up on a mountain?

To test the Evo's all-wheel drive capabilities and push-button traction control optimization for pavement, gravel, and snow, Top Gear USA's Tanner races down Mammoth Mountain.

The Evo gets some advantage early on, as the skiers must spend over 14 minutes riding a gondola up the mountain. While the car's traction control is amazing, it gets stuck behind slow traffic.

In the last segment of the race, the Evo meets up with its skiing rivals on the slope. How does it handle 8 foot deep snow? Does it sink? Does it slow down? Heck no! It sends up white wings of snow like a rallying angel, and plows on at speed.

The skiing daredevils are bent on proving their chutzpah, zig-zagging close to the speeding car, and leaping over it Evel Knievel-style.

When all is said and done, the king of the track, gravel, and snow is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, hands down.

Please call Glendale Mitsubishi at (888) 861-4488 to find out about getting an Evo of your own.
